In the world of surface technology, innovation, sustainability and trust based on partnership are what count. This is precisely why we at 3RM - A Diener & Rapp Company together with Schlötter - the specialist for electroplating technology has taken a significant step towards sustainable metal finishing.
Proven process: SurTec 650 in use
In our new, ultra-modern passivation plant, which was planned and installed by Schlötter, we rely, among other things, on the established process SurTec 650. This passivation based on trivalent chromium meets the highest requirements for corrosion protection and complies with all international standards. For us, it is a reliable building block in the sustainable further development of our processes.
SLOTOPAS AL 4270 - An answer to the future
At the same time, we are pioneering a forward-looking approach: we are one of the first companies to use aluminum passivation in our products. SLOTOPAS AL 4270 a newly developed one, Completely chromium(VI)-free passivation solution from Schlötter, which we have adapted to our requirements in close cooperation.
SLOTOPAS AL 4270 was specially developed for companies that place the highest demands on sustainability, quality and process reliability. The most important advantages at a glance:
- Chrome-free
- High corrosion resistance
- Compatibility with common painting and gluing processes
- Fulfillment of quality requirements after multi-impact, punch tear-off and cross-cut test
- REACH-compliant and regulatory future-proof
- Seamless integration into existing production processes
First applications, clear results
In the first few weeks after commissioning the SLOTOPAS AL 4270, very good results were observed both for bare corrosion resistance and for further processed passivated surfaces (paint or adhesive application) during ongoing production. The new passivation is a stable, economical and reliable solution.
Marketing planned - innovation for the market
Our positive experience with SLOTOPAS AL 4270 motivates us to think about the process beyond our own needs: we are currently examining the extent to which this innovative concept can be positioned on the market and made available to other companies. In our view, SLOTOPAS AL 4270 has promising potential to contribute to the sustainable transformation of the industry.

Our conclusion
The close cooperation with Schlötter has shown how much potential there is in genuine partnerships. Together, we have created a solution that combines technical performance and ecological responsibility.
